My academic background is social anthropology, although over the years I have veered towards an interest in Michael Foucault's works. I used to teach in an infant school and now work in a library/technology environment. I've worked in digitisation for about 3-4 years. My work interests are digitisation workflows, metadata, web delivery and I enjoy writing Python scripts (but am certainly not at a software engineering standard). I am currently studying an Introduction to Databases MOOC provided free by Stanford. I had never heard of Nicholas Carr so I Googled him. Apparently people who search him also search Andrew Keen, who I have seen speak at Southampton. Again, never heard of Slavoj Žižek, but I do have a view on other philosophers/social scientists. Never played Galaga but did have a game called Parodius on my SNES, which I played to death.
